A positive break for participants — and peace of mind for the families and carers who support them every day.
Respite is more than a pause for carers. For participants, it can be a chance to enjoy new experiences, build independence, and have time away in a relaxed, supported setting. For families, it can offer the rest and reset that helps everyone keep going.
At Ngara Care, we approach respite as a positive experience — one that's planned, person-centred, and matched to what the participant actually enjoys.
Every respite arrangement starts with a conversation. We discuss preferences, sensory and cultural needs, dietary requirements, communication styles, medications, and any routines that should travel with the participant. We then match staff and environment carefully so the experience feels familiar and safe from day one.
Respite supports NDIS participants whose plans include short-term accommodation, assistance with self-care activities, or other supports that allow respite to be funded. We're happy to walk you through what your plan supports.
Carers do extraordinary work. Regular respite supports their long-term health and capacity.
Time away builds independence, social skills, and new experiences.
A planned break helps families return refreshed and re-engaged.
Respite is planned in advance so everyone — participants and families — knows what to expect.
Respite environments are warm, accessible, and prepared for each participant's needs.
Where possible, the same trusted workers return — building familiarity and safety.
